template for a searchable database for CAD drawings?

ok I've been requested to make a database for my companys CAD drawings that
have all been paper recorded for the last 7 years. I'd like to use Access
to make it a searchable database for the engineers in the department, however
I haven't a clue on how to make one. Nothing too fancy needed, since this is
just a slow time project for me.

Any idea on the best way to make such a database?

There is a Book Collection Database template that probably wouldn't have to
be modified much for what you need. There are some other templates over in
that general area, but this seemed more appropriate for CAD drawings.
