Template for bates stamp labels? HELP!

We are bates stamping thousands of documents. For those who don't know
bates, it's just sequential numbering. Unfortunately we use labels for this.

I don't want to type numbers one by one onto label templates. We have 1
through 1806 already set on 5-tab label templates, but I have a giant
document production (perhaps a few more thousand).

Any free options?

SEQ fields are an easy (free) option. Another is to set up a list of numbers
in Excel, then use that as the source for a mailmerge.
