template for managing projects

[BBJ]

I'm looking for a template to have 10 people share and imput their progress
on each project with timeline, etc. I can design something in either Excel
or Access, but need a little help getting started. This is for reporting
each Friday on various projects that I have for various of my reports.

I did look there before posting question. I couldn't find anything that
would do the job. The project software is too complicated for my group, yet
I need some type of reporting software that is user friendly. I was using
Filemaker Pro and it became unstable. The person writing the scripts cannot
find the errors. It deleted a year of work for a couple of people. So my
boss has sent me 'out' to find something that will work. Once I receive the
reports from the 8 people reporting to me, I give my boss a report analyzing
what has happened the prior week with graphs etc. that she gives to the vice
chancellor of IT. help!
