Template for tool catalog

I need to put a "tool catalog" in place for my work. It doesn't have to be
anything nifty or out of this world, just something listing all our tools and
that when you click on the name of a specific tool, it opens up a picture of
that specific tool.

I started putting something together already in excel and started linking
the pictures, but if i email that file it breaks all the links.

Can anyone tell me how i can keep the links from breaking when emailing the
file or if there is another software program i should be using?

Publisher has a pretty good catalog merge application.

When you have links to a file on your computer, of course the links will be
broken when you email.

Ya, i know, it makes sense, i just wasn't thinking when i emailed it.
