Template input once only?

I would like each (teacher) user of my Pupil's Report Template to be
able to input their own name into a form (probably Template?) only the
once - so from then on the documents based on this template already
has their name entered.

I am already using Sub Document_New and Sub Document_Open (I think
that's Auto new and Auto open) to bring up different User Forms when
loading a new report document or a previously saved report for
revision.

Is their any other facility that can be used in a template that runs
for a once only input before saving?

Or any other ideas maybe?

Why don't you use a { USERNAME } field in the template?
