Template- Links

I am creating a series of Word documents from a template. This template has
links to an Excel workbook.

After I have updated the links in the newly created document I am unlinking
leaving the newly created document without any links.

My problem.... when I open this document in Word, I am getting a dialog box
asking me if I want to update my links. I have ascertained that this is not
coming from the document but from the original template that opens every
time a document created from it is opened. How do I stop this dialog box
from appear?

Hi EA

Try the following: Tools > Options. On the General tab, un-tick "Update
automatic links at Open".

That's a user-specific, application-wide settting. That is, it will only
apply to you, and it will apply to all your documents. So don't forget to
update links manually when you do need them updated!

Nevertheless, if others use the same template, or use documents created from
that template, I suggest you test for any side effects.
