I have a template that I made and whenever I retrieve the
template by:

clicking File, New, General Templates, Will.Dot (Will.Dot
being the template that I made), I have a document that's
perfect with the correct top/bottom margins, etc.

but when I just begin a new document and click Tools,
Templates and Add-Ins, click "Attach" and attach my
template, and whether I do or don't check "automatically
update document styles," the correct margins are NOT
there.

Would you know why that happens? Thanks, Lisa

Hi Lisa

That's just the way it works - 'Automatically update document styles' does
just that - it doesn't change the page layout (margins, headers and footers
and so on).

To create a document with the page layout in your template, you must 'New'
from it. If File > New > General Templates is longwinded, you might want to
put a shortcut to the template on your desktop or in your Start menu.
