Template question

I have created a template with various items (logo, footer, rectangle
made with the rectangle autoshape tool) that I want to appear on every
page of any document I create.

The problem that I have is that when ever a new page is created (either
by Inserting a page break or just by the text reaching the bottom of the
current page) the new page doesn't have the items on it. It's just a
blank page. Have I made an error somewhere in creating the template?

Open the template file for editing

In page setup - Check if you have 'different first page' selected, if so you need to have two pages - one for the first page and one for the rest

Go to 'View, header and footer' and create the text as necessary

Then STAY in view header and footer and add graphics, logos, etc but anchor them in the header and position them on the page as you want. Make sure they are 'behind text'

When you create a new document from the template the 'boilerplate' items should now repeat on each page

Hope this help
