template save error

Word 2000 template save error when attempting to create a change
to a document or creating anew document with the pleading Wizard.
Error = The project item cannot be copied.
OS = XP Pro SP1, 256 MB, 35% free HD space, User has
administrative rights.
The function has worked in the past, but I have no idea how much
has been changed in the interim due to length of time.
I have run Office "Repair" without changing the error.

I don't find a KB article about Word 2000 on this one, but see "You may

Thanks. No "Works" installed on this computer.
I emptied the start up folder that contained a start for "office" and a
net_use bat file, and used msconfig to de-select all startup items in the
startup folder located there in two operations, with reboot to test. No
change.
Items started are Net_use to redirect printer.
Zone alarm home use.
AVG Anti-virus
Google desktop search
Microsoft mobsysnc
Bitware = a 16bit fax program

I'm sorry I can't be of any further assistance. Perhaps someone else will
know more. FWIW, the Pleading Wizard has been a bit buggy for several
versions.

Also FWIW, the link you sent for Word 2002 has a link for Word 2000 on the
page. The information is the same on both pages. Thanks. I may need to
reinstall both the XP and the Word unless I get information on a better
approach.
