Template Sub Directories

I have created a number of personal Templates and Template Directories. Now
when I choose File/New - I have a huge number of Selections.

Is there any way that I can delete some of the not required Directories such
as Legal Pleadings, Mail Merge etc - as I don't require the Standard
Templates provided by Microsoft.

I can find the Templates themselves in Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Templates but cannot seem to be able to delete the Sub Directories
such as Legal Pleadings Tabs etc.

Any ideas please will be appreciated.

You need to unistall these template categories using the Add New Software
control panel in Windows (with Word closed). Find Microsoft Word and when
you select it you should be given an option to modify the program.

Your own templates should be stored in either your personal templates folder
or the workgroup templates folder (not where Word puts its installed
templates). You can put one level of subfolders there and they will show up
as tabs if they have templates in them.

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Office, and
click the Change button. In the first page, select "Add or Remove Features."
On the next page, expand the Microsoft Word for Windows branch and the
Wizards and Templates branch. Select the templates you want to uninstall and
set them to "Not Available" Click the Update button, and insert the Office
CD if prompted.

Before uninstalling, you may want to copy some of these templates to one of
your user templates folders.
