Templates from Excel several generations back...

Quite a few years ago (around 8-9 years) I came a cross an Excel
template/workbook that was included with MSoffice that was specifically for
home budgeting.

It was really complete allowing one to average individual utility bills,
work out mortgage, LOC and Credit card payments with interest rates and so
forth. It also allowed budgeting for entrainment, meals, travel and left room
for contingency plans as well as generating pie charts and graphs to show
expenditures versus income..

It was much more complete than any templates I have seen recently, but since
a hard-drive crash a few years back I've lost this budget workbook and am
unable to find this template anywhere. I'd like to do a bit of budget
forecasting again since I now have a new addition to my family.

Does anyone know or remember what I'm talking about or maybe have an idea
where I might be able to find it again short of trying to find Office95 on
floppy disk and reinstalling it again?

Yes, I've searched through all those already... The one I'm looking for
definitely is not posted. I have also done an exhaustive Google search..

My guess is as newer versions of Excel were release several of these
"bundled" templates were dropped. And now that the older versions are not
being supported all this high quality material vanished along with it to make
way for third party products.

I guess I'm going to need to dig through my basement and looked for my old
Office 2000 and earlier install disks.. I just hope that XP still recognizes
then software. I'm hoping that the built in backward compatibility of Excel
will still recognize the Macros embedded in the template..

I have Office from way back. Do you remember at all when you first had this
template? Works had some nifty templates in the past, could it be a Works
template?

I found it during my first year or so of being married, and seeing that today
is my 9th anniversary my guess is it was somewhere around 1997 to 2000.

I'm pretty sure it was Excel since I never used Works.. I'm just really
surprised I am unable to find it archived on the net anywhere, and the new
releases of Office didn't keep/update them. I remember Office having LOTS of
great bundled templates..

Thanks for all your help and suggestions so far,

Grant
