Templates - Need more for travel and one for a WORD itiniary

I have many documents made from booking various parts of a trip. I want to
bring them all together into a single intiniary in a Word document that I
will be able to send to my relatives and friends. I will have to do this the
hard way, apparently, as there is no template to guide me. Also, I may miss
important things to include.

The travel templates are ok, but not too great. The only one for an itiniary
is one that has to be used with OneNote. Well, I had the trial of OneNote and
tried to use it many times. This program is too complicated to use and
impossible to learn. The fluff from Microsoft sounds good, but the program
needs to be intuitive so as to lower the learning curve. I wanted this
program to work as well as Microsoft said it would, but it would not do that
for me.

Thinking maybe it would be worth buying the program anyway, I started to buy
one on the Internet from Microsoft. The cost was $99.00. That is $ One
Hundred dollars folks. Why be cute with the $99.00 or why not go all the way
and charge $99.95. For a big company like microsoft, you need to be honest.

Anyway I was not going to pay $ One Hundred dollars for another piece of
downloaded software. Therefore, I still cannot find the elusive template that
started all of this stuff.

Comments on the topics including templates on word to be used in traveling
will be appreciate.

Georgew6,
Word templates that can be easily modified to suit your needs can be found
here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx
any free template would have to be personalized.
You can learn how to do that here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx
just browse the training courses for Word.

One Note is an excellent place for "notes" about your Word document,
business proposal "notes", job estimate "notes", itinerary "notes" etc... It
is designed for that purpose.
Easily accessable, and user friendly traing courses can be found here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx
Another excellent user experience resource can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...spx?dg=microsoft.public.onenote&lang=en&cr=US
Search your question first, if no relevant posts are returned then post your
user q to the group.
Version 2 will be more advanced than even the current One Note sp1.

Templates and Training are provided free for the 2 products you mentioned.
Specific application purpose is up to you.

Hi, George,

Have you looked at Excel? My son and I have used it for years. You can set
up the itinerary and then add notes at each event (before or after) without
intruding on the main page. They are flagged and called up on request as
"Comments"). You can even, with simple formulae, keep track of costs.

Six Months Pass and George is home trying to use Office once again. He
finds this old thread and replies....

Thank you for the information given in the replies. I did not have time or
energy to pursue this further, although now I do have some free time and will
take another look as I intend to travel more.

As I did not automate I used pencil and paper notes that worked OKk, if not
the way I wanted things done. From what I read about notes it is possible
and expected that the program will be used for more th simple post-it type
notes. I believe for school, for example, MS suggests entire papers be put on
notes, as well as "notes" taken in class or from sources.

As to the cost, maybe MS listened? I see OneNote is include in the new
version of Office XP 2003 Standard that I just downloaded. Since the 2003
Office seems easier to handle, maybe that will be true of OneNotes 2003.
Hope so. Thanks again for your help.
