Hi Chris,
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have always dropped down and clicked the
Workspace item as per the help instructions. What gives? A template is
supposed to be a template.
I've been on Macs since 1984, and just this year decided to change to
Windowas and the rest of the world. The Mac has a "stationary pad" option
where you can save a document exactly as youu close it in every way down to
the position of the cursor when you close. Is Microsoft's Template function
supposed to act the same way, as per the help instructions, or does it just
retain some things but not others arbitrarily, or am I doing somthing wrong?
What I want to do is set up drawing documents for each scale. One Template
for 1'=10', one for 1'=16', another for 1'=20' etc. I want them all to open
with my stencil in the same position, with the other shapes closed, the font
at comic sans ms 8pt, line width defaulted at 1, etc. I mean it should be a
simple task to at least retain a default font. I've tried other drawing
programs on the Mac and Windows where this is a very simple procedure.
This seems lke a very feature rich and thorough program, so I can't believe
you cant save something as simple as a font in a template.
Except for that and the curve tool which is very jumpy, this program would
be perfect for my needs.
BTW, how do you control that curve tool especially at the end if you twitch
a little you get a wild curvy tail extension with no way to edit or shorten
it except to delete and start all over.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rich
