Templates on multiple servers

Dear Microsoft Gurus,
I have templates set up on multiple servers (each city has it's own server),
and when users create a .doc from the the templates I've placed on their
server from my server, it continues to look for where I originally saved the
template (my server in another city). In other words, in the Tools,
Templates and Add-ins dialog box, there is this long path name to the
original template. This is causing documents created from these templates to
crash when sent to another server environment. I can fix that at the
document level by detaching in from the template so that it just looks for
Normal, but how can I prevent this from happening in the future?

You need to use a redirect on the servers so that any workstation addressing
that template is directed to the local copy regardless of where the document
was created.

Hmm. Can you give me any more detail about what "redirect on the servers"
means so I can communicate that to my IT guys? Not sure what you mean.
Thks.

Sorry: I'm not a Server Admin, but this is the solution that we use
successfully. The server wiz uses the redirect command that is part of
Windows 2003 server - but I have no idea what syntax to use.

The server guys should know.
