hello, and thanks for all of those who helps make life a
bit easier for us.

I am in th process of creating a form. however my form
would be more like a daily report sheet for each day on
the job. i would like to have certain fields that are
important data and have it tranferred (or linked) to a
certain workbook in excel (2002 office).IE: like how many
plans planted today, type, size, and where? etc... Any
ideas or macros or hints to make it successful. example..
day 1 on form to be filled out by inspector and then hit
button to send the "form and data" to the workbook
designated. also ..there can be only 25 days for each
report cycle once the 26th day is here as current date it
will need to be put in to the next folder or sheet in
excel. IE: april 26th- may 25 th into say "month 1 "
then "month 2" of job such and such. I have already made
worksheets and etc.
just need ideas and help to actually make this happen. i
am new to word but have 2 mos on excel. still freash as
faras macros and linking goes. any step by step will
help. thanks a whole bunch..i asked this once in excel
forum but was blown away by deep rapid discussions /
talks and got "lost". i would appreciate a repeat. :)or
alink to somewhere else that can take the time to go in
depth..or lesson of examples. ( i am a fast learner)

Hi Mike,

It would probably be best to have your Word document link to the required
range on an Excel worksheet that does the work of pulling together the info
you want displayed. Excel's formulae be set up to gather information from
multiple worksheets and display only what's relevant. This way, no macros
need be involved. Of course, you'll need to plan your Excel workbook's
layout carefully, and proficiency in the use of formulae wouldn't go astray
either.

Cheers
