Templates - Setting newly inserted pictures to same size/position

Hello,

I would like to know how to set up a Template so when I want to create a new
ppt presentation, i can easily change the existing pictures with new ones and
have them auto-set to the existing pictures size & position. Is this
possible? I notice I can use the "Change Picure" feature to replace picture
with new picture, but the size/position changes. I need a solution that works
for several users who will edit a template and keeps the layout of pictures
uniform/fixed.

Many thanks for your help!

I hope someone else will have a better suggestion for you, but you might try
creating shapes and putting the pictures as background fill for the shape.
The picture will conform to the size and location of the shape. You might
also want to mention what version of PowerPoint you are using.

Well, there are macros to adjust the size and position of a picture. If you
look here, you will see one that inserts pictures on a slides and sets the
size of the pictures. If you have any experience writing macros, you might
be able to do something with that:

Batch Insert a folder full of pictures, one per slide

In PPT 2007, you can create a custom slide layout with the appropriate
number of picture placeholders.

In 2007, you can insert an autoshape, then right-click and choose Format
Shape. On the Fill tab, choose Picture or Texture and Insert from File, then
choose Tile Picture as Texture.

You have to use the Tile Picture in order to maintain the aspect ratio,
otherwise, PPT just squeezes your pix into your shape. Unfortunately, the
scale option in the Tile section only go up to 100, so your picture must be
bigger than the shape you're inserting it into.

I think you can change the size pretty easily by zooming in in the Windows
photo gallery. I don't think you have to re-save it or anything, either.
(I'd have to play with that more to be sure.)
