I'm looking for some suggestions to get this to work. Or to be told it
can't be done.
Like any organization, we have a letterhead template. It has a banner
across the top and down the left side. Works fine. Users have made
their own form letters based on the letterhead template and then
pre-filling in the body of the letter. My problem is that several
times a year, content changes can be made to the letterhead that don't
always get reflected into these other templates.
What I would like to do is when their DOT is opened, it would
automatically embed the current letterhead template.
I've been experimenting with Master and subdocuments and making the
letterhead template part of the body in the subdoc. One problem is
that I'd prefer to have it open in print layout view instead of
outline view. I put some code as an AutoNew macro that changes the
view. But I also get an message about the two templates being
different andthat the master document will be used. Also, I sometimes
get a blank first page and then the letterhead on the second.
Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a better way then what I am
doing?
