I just downloaded a couple of resume templates from this site and they only show up as documents on my desktop. how do i add it to the templates menu in Microsoft Word?

You need to move them into your Templates folder.

If you do not know where that is, go to Preferences>File Locations>User
Templates and click Modify. Word will then show you where it is keeping the
templates on your machine.
