tentative striping and busy darkness on month view

Kyle

In Outlook 2007 I've noticed that when I schedule an appointment
either "Tentative" or "Out of Office" that it shades or stripes the
entire day in the Month View.

It doesn't always do this, and I can find no consistent reason for it
happening in some appointments but not others (unless it has something
to do with these appointments having come in from Windows Mobile
through Active Sync).

I've looked to find a setting to stop "Tentative" and "Out of Office"
appointments from doing this in month view, but have found nothing. Is
there a setting buried somewhere I can change, or do I have to suck it
up and live with this?

It happens with all day events. Busy and tentative all day events shade the
day. If you use color categories, the shading is the category color. All day
out of office events shade the date in purple.

Thanks for the explanation! It makes perfect sense and seems so simple
now that it makes me wonder why I didn't realize that in the first
place.

It does make things a little complicated, though, because I may have
an all-day event tentatively scheduled, but that doesn't mean the
entire day is tentative. It would be clearer to me if there were only
an indicator on the all-day event's "bubble", not the day as a whole.

But that's just me...

Maybe this would suit you - don't make it an All Day Event - set it for 8am
so it sits at the top of the day.
