We currently use Access 2003 as our front end application with SQL 2000 for
the backend tables. For our remote offices, we connect using ODBC over high
speed internet connections. However, our forms do not refresh as fast as we
would like. Would a terminal server be a better idea and produce better
performance?

Terminal Server would definitely be a better idea.

A high-speed internet connection really isn't that fast.

You high speed T1 line is still 100 times slower then your office lan. So,
it is a LOT slower....

Terminal services tends to be considerably better..and gets away with a LOT
less bandwidth in this cases....

Of course, we also assume that forms etc are optimized to ONLY transfer what
they need (so, you can't open a form bound to a large table UNLESS you use
the were clue to restrict records for example).

Aren't ALL programmer's forms ALWAYS optimized??? I'm hurt!

Thanks for the info. I never know if the "perfomance boost" is sales talk
or not.
