Terminology

Hello, here is what might be deemed a contest! I have been searching high and
low to get the proper terminology to use when referring to different aspects
of a web page. One that is totally hidden is what you call the 'spinning
globe' when the search engine is, well, searching. The closest I've come to a
proper definition is 'animated globe.' I've also heard people refer to it as
'revolving world.' Any ideas? And, while we're at it, what do you call when
you hover over a title - then a list pops up - you still are not clicking -
then you slide your mouse down the list and click to open topic. Is that
considered a dropdown list? Also, what about when you are on a topic that has
an arrow that indicates another list? Is that called a 'sub-list' ? thank you!

But... as I'm reading the pages you linked - the first description is
referring to it as 'Internet Explorer Globe.' So I think I would use that as
the name and the 'animated globe' when discussing the actions.

Oh drat! I was hoping the prize was chocolate or a vacation to someplace
where it doesn't snow. I need to thaw out.

Chocolate isn't usually a rotating globic object. Unless you've dropped your
malted milk balls.
