A large scale Project Server implementation attempted to use loadrunner for
load testing. This has presented unexpected problems, in that the traffic
sent by Project Server cannot be directly interpreted by loadrunner. The
data has been encrypted into hexadecimal. We were expecting perhaps, name
value pairs with which load runner could work with, but this is not the case.

What tools are best suited to load testing Project Server?

Microsft have Smoke Test Tool for Project 2003. But that doesn't go in detail.
