Test for normality of data

R

Rob

I need to test a data set for normal distribution.
How do I do this?
Also, is there a way to create a graph that will display both the test data
set and a normal data set with the same mean and stdev?

Thank you,
Rob

For a "statistical inference" test, use the chi-square goodness-of-fit test.
Search Google or Wikipedia.

My free Better Histogram add-in could display the test data, and it's
possible to add a normal curve. For an example, see

Wouldn't one also want to use a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test too? And for
normality, wouldn't a quick (as in quick rejection) test for not
normal be skewness and kurtosis substantially nonzero?
