Is there a way to programatically test for the native format (.wmf, .jpg,
..bmp, etc.) of a selected graphic or picture imbedded in a word 2007 doc?

If you are using the docx format it might be possible.
However, it might not be easy!

Sorry, sitll using Word 2003 .doc format.

If you are using 2007 and saving as 2003, then, no, I do not think you can
really do what you want to do.
