I should have been more specific. I apologize. Yes, I did
do a special paste. And yes, I did try to do save as and
give it another name. It didn't work. The weird thing is,
it was prompting for the test.xls which is not the
original source of the information. The system is
thinking Test.xls is the original source. Because it
thinks that, I went ahead and put all the information
needed from the original into the test. So technically
the test.xls is now the correct one, and is fully working
as should. I just can not rename it, by right clicking or
doing a save as.
Any other advise?
Sincerely,
Christine

Do any of the cells that you are copying to the new workbook have
formulas in them? It sounds like maybe you are copying formulas to the
new cells that are dependent on information that is found in the
original workbook. If this is the case and you no longer need the
formulas you can always copy the data and then right click and choose
PASTE SPECIAL ---> VALUES. This will copy the numeric values only and
not the formulas.

Instead of copying and pasting info from the first sheet to the next
why not just re-save the original workbook with a different name and
then re-open it and make the appropriate changes that you want to make
it like your Text.xls workbook?
