Text bigger in PPT 2004 than PPT 2003

Jerome COLAS

My (at least 2) presentations look different on a PC with PPC 2003 and
my Mac with PPT2004 (with latest updates).

Text in text boxes is bigger on the MAC and flow over the borders of
the boxes, both on screen and when printing.

The font used is the very common "Arial".

Anyone has an idea about what's happening ?

Thanks in advance,
Jerome

Jerome,

You are 'victime' of the collateral effects of moving from the Quickdraw API
to tha ATSUI api in version 2004.

Please, if this is a real show stopper for you, report it to MS. Open a bug
report, do all the noise you can. US customers being less affected than
European (because presentation in the US have much less text than in EU) it
is critical to let the MacBU know how important spending time on fixing this
is.

Have you tried using Save As to save a copy of the files in a different
format that might be more compatible on both platforms? |:>)

It has nothing to do with the file format. It is the text drawing engine of
PPT:2004

You can open the same presentation in PPT:vX or Keynotes 2.0 and find that
the text is correct with those programs..

Thanks for the info.

I just noticed that some letters display (and print) weirdly, as for
ewample the "w"s and "v"s in Arial. They look like "w " and "v ", as
if thet had an extra space on thei right
Could that be a font corruption problem ?
Any help appreciated.

Jerome.

Arial 10 bold seems to be the worst. It does look fine in Powerpoint X
though so that's what I'm using. If you are having this problem make
sure to report it to Microsoft by calling tech support and emailing
(e-mail address removed).
