text box and shadowing effect

Greetings...I trying to add a shadowing effect to a text
box in MS Word. I can't get it to work. I'm using MS Word
2000.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

So what happens if you select the box and click on the
Shadow icon on the drawing toolbar?
