Hi K.J.,
Historically Word is a good torture test for graphics
cards and graphics controller drivers. To do a live
refresh of a page with layout and instantly reflow
text to accomodate a variety of format choices
and graphic content types takes much more resources
than in displaying just a graphic in a graphic app.
Common symptoms are fragmented, split, 'vanishing'
or repeated pictures when scrolling a page.
The graphics card and PC makers do try to keep up
but sometimes the 'new' driver shipped with a PC
can, by the time it gets to be a 'sold' PC be weeks
or months out of date.
To test, right click on your desktop and see if turning down
the hardware graphics card acceleration
(Properties=>Settings=>[Advanced]=>/TroubleShooting\ )
at least 2 clicks helps when you restart Word (Max isn't always the best
performing setting) Sometimes testing with the 'none'
setting may be required.
Check the PC and card maker's websites for driver updates.
If your graphics card uses an Intel chipset you may also
want to check this:

=======
I have been having a problem in Word when I make a text box or a shape like a
circle or a square it disappears when I scroll down or change the zoom
percentage or even save the document. The only way make it come back is to
highlight the area and it will reappear again.
It seems that it may be some type of bug or something to do with the Word
refreshing the document.
Can anyone help??? Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you in advance for any help!
