Text box visual modification

Hi,

Ok I wish I could have added an attachment to show you guys what it is I
want to do.

But I will try to explain my best

If you insert a text box in word
Right click on it then
format textbox
Fill “select blueâ€
Line “no lineâ€

Then it just looks like a square box, right
But is there a way to make it round, not with the rough edges (i.e. make the
edges smooth and rolly, if you will)

For example what I was thinking of is in XP
If you right click on my computer
Advance tab
Click on Performance settings
Visual Effects tab
When you adjust for best performace
Or change to ajust to best apperance
You see the differnce in style

Can I do that for in word for that colored texbox I’m creating.

Thanks in advance,

Do you mean a rectangle with rounded corners? You can't do that
with a text box. But you can insert a rounded rectangle from the
Autoshapes->BasicShapes dropdown on the Drawing toolbar, and
right-click on the rounded rectangle to apply a fill color and to
add text.

For now I got around it by grouping the text box and the rectangle together

But for future reference I would still like to know if there is that option
to put text in the autoshapes

Thank you for helping me thing "out side the box"

As I said in my original reply, "right-click on the rounded
rectangle to apply a fill color and to add text". When you
right-click on the rounded rectangle, you will see options to
"Format AutoShape" (click on that to apply a fill color) and "Add
Text" (click on that to add text).

sorry about not being clear enough

when i right click and press "format autoshape"
i see the fill option
but the "text box" tab is visible but its hidden, Ii.e. cant click on it)
i even tried adding the text under the "web" tab but its not displayed
what am i doing wrong?

I'm using word 2002 do you think that has anything to do with it? or am i
missing something

Take care,

I never suggested that you click on the Text Box tab in the
Format Autoshape dialog.

Right-click on the rounded rectangle. What choices do you see on
the shortcut menu that pops up? One of the choices should be
"Add Text". Another of the choices should be "Format Autoshape".

ok thank you for your patience

i will try to a better job of following instructions
