Text boxes are putting letters on top of each other

Today when I open a new Powerpoint 2007 file or open a previously saved file,
all the text is garbled. The letters are directly on top of one another. I
installed Windows Service Pack 3 last week, but uninstalled it this morning
to see if that fixed it. Nope. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled Office Pro
2007. I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!
