Text boxes causing crashes in Word 2007

I've been using Word to create surveys for some time. Occasionally Word has
crashed, usually resulting in a recoverable file. Recently I've been
creating additional surveys, and am experiencing more crashes...many times
they are not recoverable.

I am using Word 2007 on a Windows XP with current service packs laptop.
Following pop-up window prompts, I have attempted "open and repair", moving
the "Building Blocks files to a temporary location", and MS Office
Diagnostics. Office Diagnostices updated one and only one file. These
measures have been successful at times in staying off crashes.

My surveys use the standard font types, only one graphic (our college logo),
a few call-outs, and text boxes. Most of the crashes occur right after I
move or resize a text box.

I'm not sure if this is relevant or not...but occasionally, I have located a
text box that has "slid" beyond the last page of the survey. In this
circumstance I have noticed that a new page is not auto-created, and this
text box is not visible until other survey content in a visible part of the
survey is deleted.

What more can I do to avoid crashes?
