Text Boxes that flow together...

The Columns feature allows me to take the output from one or more detail
sections and split them nicely across the page. But what if I wanted to only
have columns in one field?

What I was thinking was... if there was a way to have output start in one
text box and flow into the next designated text box to finish the field's
contents. Sort of like the wayyou can do this with MS Publisher and other
desktop publishing products. The text boxes become linked. Any way to do this
in Access?

Hi Joseph,

If this is in a report, how about using Publisher's mail merge feature,
pulling the data from your database? I have not used Publisher, so cannot
advise further. You could try posting about that in
microsoft.public.publisher. Or you might be able to do a Word mail merge.

Good Luck,

I am doing that today. I am trying to bring it all into Access to make it
"Wife Proof"... so she can just press a button and get what she needs.

I was hoping to remove the additional steps of a merge into any program.
Everything else works perfect. Having this feature would make it shine.

Thanks,

Hi Joseph,

To my knowledge, you cannot link the contents of fields like that.
But, if you have Access 2007, you might be able to use a TextBox set to use
RichText. Or for earlier versions of Access, Leban's RTF2 control might
work. See <http://www.lebans.com/richtext.htm>. I presume that flowed
columns can be defined in RichText. Again, my experience there is limited.
If you are trying to flow text into disjointed locations, I'm not sure how
that would work.

Good Luck,
