Please let me know how to insert text or characters such
as + or - or = between text boxes? Thanks for a prompt
reply.

I guess I am confused as to what you want.

What I do is to place my cursor where I want a text box, click the "AB" icon
on the Forms toolbar, press a space, press a "+" sign, press a space, click
the "AB" icon again, press another space, press the "=" sign, press another
space, click the "AB" icon. Then I double click on the first text box and
set it as a "number", double-click the second text box and set it as a
number and click the "Calculate on exit" box, then double-click on the third
text box and set it as a "calculation" and set the calculation to
"=Text1+Text2".

Protect the form and try it out.

You'd need to put these in separate text boxes unless your text boxes are
inline. I would imagine that what you are trying to do could be better done
with a table.
