text boxes

I am editing a doc that has text boxes in it. I want to turn the
material in the boxes to footnotes, that's easy, but I can't get rid
of the boxes after, and they are obscuring text. How to get rid of
them?

Hello Janet,

Just mouse around near the edge of a text box and click once -- you'll soon
hit the edge and the text box will be highlighted. Then hit the Delete key.

You didn't state your version of Word. I don't use Word 2008 yet, but I
doubt it's different from previous versions. But if you need to post back,
please provide more details.
