Text changes on its own

Dan Perlman

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not.

In Access 2000 I create a table with a text field.
I open that table and type the letters "HDA" into the text field.
When I down arrow it changes to "HAD"

The only way I could change it to "HDA" was to tun an update query.

I can reproduce this on 2 different machines.

Is there a problem here or is there some kind of auto-spell check that I'm
not aware of?

Thanks,

Dan

It's not a bug: more like a misfeature.

The latter. Select Tools... Options... Spelling, and click the
Autocorrect Options. Unless you want Access correcting your spelling
even when you're NOT entering English text (as in this case), just
uncheck the option to autocorrect. Or if you prefer, you can remove
the HDA->HAD correction or even reverse it; however, if you do so,
you'll find that you may have hda a cause of headaches later on.
