text colour not kept

Hi
I have a user who has a spreadsheet which when she uses toolbar icon for
change cell text colour it changes the colour but when moves from that cell
it loses colour change. she sent me spreadsheet but I can't recreate this.Is
there a setting in excel which would cause this?
Ps if she right clicks goes to cell format and changes colour there it works

Any help much appreciated

Just a guess...

Have her start excel in safe mode:

close excel
windows start button|Run
excel /safe

file|open workbook.xls

And test it out.

If it works there, then maybe there's a "helpful" macro that's sticking its head
where it doesn't belong.
