Text disappears when selecting

I am using Visio 2002 and when I either click inside a shape to edit the
text inside, the text disappears. If I click and hold to highlight the
text, all I see is the highlight color, but not the text. If I press the
space bar or the backspace key to individually delete characters, the text
reappears. Any ideas on what's causing this? Is it even a Visio problem?

I am having the exact same issue having just installed Visio .I have been
unable to find a solution to the problem so far. any help would be appreciated

Is the text black normally or some other color? The Visio text editor does
not adjust its background color when the text color varies.

Yes the text is black i have not altered any settings just installed it
..Appreciate any help its bugging me big time.

I don't have any notion about what could be happening. It could be Visio,
it could be your video card.
