Text dissapears in my headers (word 2000)

help.
first of all I have odd and even header pages

even has a logo and the chapter title as autotext
odd has page number and copywrite message

now the problem is with the even page header text. I can get the chapter
title on the first occurance of the header but every one following the first
is blank. if I try to re-add the text I either get two occurances on the
first header or the text simply dissapears

now I have tried with 'same as previous' setting on and off and with 'track
changes' on and off.

I'm out of answers and I'm hoping someone here can help me

From your description, you may either have a problem with the graphics or
printer driver, or the Headers have become corrupt (the most likely). Try
copying the first section without the final Paragraph mark into a new blank
document. Without the final section paragraph mark, the H&Fs should not copy
across. Recreate the H&Fs in the new document and see if that is OK now.

thanks that worked though for the life of me i cant figure out how the header
got corrupted since i had only just made it (new document saved as new
template.) many thanks for your prompt answer
