Text Fields in a New Template

M

Mike Coomer

Good morning,
I am working on a new template for a form in Word and I
would like to know how I can reserve a certain amount of
space for text fields. Currently, whenever I type more
than one line of text into a text field it causes
everything below it to move down and it dirupts the look
of the form. I would like the empty text field to
display its maximum length (4 lines) so that I can format
the rest of my template and when people type into the
text field everything below it remains in place. Is this
possible?

Thanx,
Mike

Put it in a table cell with Exact row height.

Thank you Suzanne. I think I have a solution for now. I
am using the Word command macro Insert Frame to build a
text frame with in the doc. After that I turn off the
borders and I have a fixed area for entering text that I
can copy and paste throughout my doc. I will try that
for now, but if it doesn't work out I will put your
suggestion to use.

Thanx again,
Mike
