I want to insert a couple of pictures in Word 2007 and then type in
text so it flows around the pictures. Can that be done? I search
Help but must not be entering the correct search words.
The term Word uses is "text wrapping". The help topic that partly explains
it is "Insert a picture or clip art" (available online at
http://office.microsoft.com/client/...&rt=2&ns=WINWORD&lcid=1033&pid=CH100675901033),
specifically the section "Change an inline picture to a floating picture,
and vice versa".
The general idea is that whenever you have selected a picture in the
document, the Picture Tools tab of the ribbon is available. The tools for
wrapping text around the picture are in the Arrange group on that ribbon:
the Position button and the Text Wrapping button. You can use either of
them. The Picture button gives you a choice of specific positions on the
page, while the Text Wrapping button simply changes the wrapping type and
leaves it to you to drag the picture to wherever you want it.
Oddly, the help topic shows the Text Wrapping button but doesn't mention it
or explain it. :-(
