Text form field, current date Word 2000 versus 2002

Hi all, I have been using Word 2000 where I had a text
form field set up to display the current date. When I
opened a document previously saved that text form field's
date would automatically display today's date.

I just upgraded to Word 2002, now documents that were
created in Word 2000 do not update to the current date.
Is there a way to correct this?
