Text Functions

Hello
I'm encountering a recurring problem. I have set up some custom text fields with simple functions and value lists. The functions and value lists don't perform as expected when using master plans w/ inserted subplans. From either a single subplan or from the inserted subplan (via the master), I may have RESET the value (from the pick list); and I may have to ensure that the function has the latest revision, ie, reimport the custom text field from the Global.mpt. Sometimes, after editing a function (in a custom text field), I may NOT need to reimport the custom field from the Global.mpt. In sum, sharing custom fields among several plans via the Global.mpt, particularly when updating the custom field's function, gives unpredictable results. Any ideas?

Hello,

All the new projects that you create pick the custom text field in the
Global.mpt file.
But there is no dynamic connection between the Goblal.mpt and the new
project file.
If you update the custom text field in the Global.mpt, all the pre-existing
..mpp files don't benefit of this update.
Hope this helps,
