Text in text box splits word in half

I'm, using Publisher 2003. I typed the word "gathering" into a text box in
Abbey-Medium font. The line is centered. The word split and shoved the text
to fill the line (as if it were justified on both sides): Instead of "Winter
Dinner Gathering" it looked like:
Winter Dinner Gath ering
Only the "h" did that. Any other letter didn't do that, and no other font
(I've tried) does it. I don't HAVE to use the font, but darn it, I want to
know why it's happening! Thanks for any input.
PS I looked for any images blocking the text, but there aren't any. I even
moved the text box out into the gray area, and it looked the same.

Not all fonts are created equal... I downloaded this font from a freebie font
site, it behaved the same for me. It is a flawed font. It would behoove you to
move on and select a different font.

If I use the phrase the poster submitted (Winter Dinner Gathering) in Publisher
2000 using any point size 14 or above, with a center alignment, the t and h
separate. If I highlight the phrase and use a different font all is well.

Thank you! As Don noted, the font worked okay in a smaller size, but when I
enlarged it, it split. I even tried using it in a WordArt image and it didn't
work. By the way, I just took out "Gathering" and kept the font and it looks
fine.
