Text input into Out of Office Assistant disappears

Whenever one user deactivates his out of office assistant whatever text his
auto-replies contained disappears. When the assistant is active everything
is fine but once he turns it off the problem occurs. Anyone have an idea what
could cause this and how to correct it?
