text invisible when pasting

surely this has been covered before, but i can't find it.

since getting a new mac with office 2004 on it, this has been driving me
crazy... when doing a cut and paste, when the text is pasted into a cell or
cells, it's invisible, as if the font color was white. if i click on the font color
tab and choose black, it pops up. i just can't find a preference that's
causing this, but it's maddening! please help.

Hi

If you Copy instead of Cut, when you paste you'll get a widget.
Experiment with using the source formatting and the destination
formatting and post back with the results.

By any chance is the source formatting white text?
