Text is not being updated when database values are changed

Updated data can be viewed in a shape's Custom Properties but I cannot see
how to refresh the text in the shape to reflect the change.

AFAIK refreshing of visio data from an external database has to be
accomplished using software, it's not a normal function. You might check the
database wizard if it's normal object data.

Thanks Al. However the data is being refreshed as I can see the changed data
in the Custom Properties of the shape, but it is the text of the shape (which
is made up of 2 elements of data) that is not changing. To get it to change I
have to re-select the record from the database which isn't very helpful.

Sorry, please ignore the last part of my previous message - I am unable to
get the text to automatically change whatever I do!

I had a similar problem until I discovered that I had linked my database
field to an attribute "Prop.ShapeText" which appeared to have been
auto-generated, rather than to "Shape.Text" which is the native attribute.
