Text is scrambled

I have dowloaded a document from my company's corp. site
and when word opens it it is all squares, zeor's, numbers
and other strange characters. The only words that I can
read are where it says 'page break'.

ANy ideas why this is happening??

Sounds like a corrupt font, or maybe you don't have the required font on
your system.
Just a guess, I'm not an expert

Another possibility is that is the downloaded document is not a Word
document, but one that was created with another program.
