Text Justification bug

A colleague using Visio 2007 sent me a file where teh text justifcation is
acting funny. When you click on the shape and change the justification to
where you want it changes but then when you click on another shape it changes
back to where it was aligned. I have tried changing it via the toolbar, menu
and shapesheet. It keeps jumping back. I thought this might have been a 2007
auto-move setting but when she sends me the file the bug is replicated when I
open it in Visio 2003 which is what I am using. It is random as to what
shapes on the page this happens to and which is doesn't as well. Anyone seen
this or have any idea how to fix it. The only tempory fix we've found is to
copy some non-corrupted text into the text box and then the bug doesn't
happen. But we cannot continue to fix teh text this way - it would be rather
time consuming and annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. It is not the margins. It happens in the middle of the
page as well.

I have a theory that it might be something to do with the stencil. I have a
stencil set up with some devices that already have the text added. I know you
should still be able to change the justification (and sometimes you can) but
I am thinking that Visio keeps wanting to go back to the the text
justification of the master shape. A glitch perhaps but I can't think of a
way to fix it other than not using shapes from the stencil (which defeats the
purpose of the stencil really).

Any ideas?

Thanks

I was not referring to the page margin, but the margins within the shape. If
you have a 2in. x 2in. square, the shape will have a text box of 2in. x 2in.
and the text box would have a margin to keep the text from touching the box.
Choose Text from the Format menu and then select the Text Box tab. Set the
margins to zero. If you are not using Center justification, you may want to
set the margin to match the justification, but leave the opposite margin as
zero.

Good luck.

Hi John,

I appreciate the reply but I don't think this is the issue. For a start all
the icons on the page are identical with identical text and it happens to
some and not others. The text will change justifcation but then will jump
back to its original so it is not an issue of it being too big for the shape.

Thanks
