Text line spacing

When I create text in a text box it looks fine until I go to preview - then
it is all squashed up and to get it to space correctly on the web I need to
make the line spacing 1.5 pt. This is fine but then the text is expanded
during design which makes it very hard to line up.
I can get around this problem by placing my text in a table rather than a
text box but then I can't seem to use alt text.
How do I get around either of these problems?

Which version of Publisher are you using? Which font? Have your tried
removing the paragraph formatting...Pub can have a difficult time converting
some print document formatting to HTML. You can add alt text to graphics,
but what do you mean by adding alt text to a text box? If you have an
example posted, please provide the URL.
