Text not Printing on Canon i850

Using Word 2003 on a wireless network. When printing to the i850, the only
text that prints is those that are in color. Formatted everything in Black
and nothing printed. Printed a web page using IE and it printed all text of
all colors. Printed the original document on another network Canon printer
and it printed fine.

Could this be a driver issue, or something more esoteric?

It could be esoteric or it could just be out of black ink. Some applications
seem to create black from coloured ink, some use black ink and I've never
seen a good explanation of this.
